Empties

I've finally gotten around to doing my empties post. Some of this stuff I used up awhile ago but better late than never.

MAKEUP

CHANEL MAT LUMIERE shade 20 Clair
I love this foundation. It had medium to ful coverage and leave a nice mat velvet finish. The packaging is so fancy too. I will definitely repurchase this one day.

MAYBELLINE ILLEGAL LENGTH black
I wasn't a fan of this but I don't really like lengthing mascaras. It was abit of a struggle to use up.

LAURA MERCIER SILK CREME FOUNDATION rose Ivory
This is the second time I have purchased this foundation. I love it. Good coverage. Long lasting. Not a good colour for me all year round though.

MAYBELLINE MASTER PRECISE LIQUID LINER black
I tried to repurchase this but got the wrong one. It's amazing. Easy to use. Long lasting and very black. It taught me how to do wing liner.

LAURA MERCIER FOUNDATION PRIMER
This is one of my favourite foundation primers. I prefer the hydrating one better but I got this sample in a bellabox.

MAC MINERALIZE SKINFINISH NATURAL medium
My go to powder. Perfect finish. I can't say enough good things about it.

BENEFIT THE PORE FESSIONAL
I don't really like this primer. I get samples of it all the time and use them but it just doesn't grow on me.

SKINCARE

MODEL CO INSTANT MIRACLE BOOSTER
This is really nice. I would use it again but I wish samples where just a little bigger. Using it more than 2-3 times would give me a better idea of the product.

ESTÉE LAUDER NEW DIMENSION
Why does this have to be soooo expensive. I loved it. Maybe one day if I'm lucky I'll get it. Add it to me wish list. Might have to go get some more samples 😉

SELECT DAILY BALANCE REFRESHING FAVIAL WIPES
These are great. Like $2 or $3 and are very wet. I have gone through lots of these and I will continue to repurchase.

THE BODY SHOP NEROLI JASMINE SHOWER GEL
Smell great. Lathers great. A little goes along way.

ORIGINAL SOURCE SHOWER GEL watermelon and jojoba oil/vanilla and raspberry
These are cheap and amazing. I would repurchase these over the body shop shower gel.

HAIR CARE

MATRIX TOTAL RESULTS MOISTURE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER
I got these on sale and I would love to use them again. Very moisturising.

NAK AROMA OIL SPRAY
I really should repurchase this. I loved it but hate spending that much money in things.

WEN CLEANSING CONDITIONER
I do not like this product at all. It leaves my hair oily and gross. More oily than before I washed it.

OTHER

GILLETTE VENUS EMBRACE REFILL
I have gone though so many of these. Perfect staple razer. I will continue to buy this.

FUNTIME BUBBLEBATH
Here is my mum product haha bubblebath for my boy. So cheap and works so well.

“This or That: Beauty Edition” TAG!

Since I love doing and reading tags I found this one on http://www.nikkietutorials.com/. Its an old one but looks good. PS. Nikki tutorials is amazing!!! I would love to see what you answer so leave it in the comments :) Let me know why as well! You might convert me ;)

QUESTIONS:
→ Makeup
Blush or Bronzer - I'm not much of a tanner and I do like my fair skin

Foundation or Concealer - just apply a little more foundation. I often don't wear concealer everyday
Neutral or Color Eyeshadow - easier for work
Pressed or Loose eye shadows - Pressed shadows are so much easier to use and not as messy. I alway make a mess!
Brushes or Sponges - I am still yet to try the beauty blender so I'm all about the brushes.
→ Nails
O.P.I or China Glaze - hmmm i can be very slack with my nails so I'm not expert. I will say China Glaze.
Long or Short - Love long nails. I can never keep them all even though.
Acrylic or Natural - I used to do acrylic and gel but they really do damage my nails and are a lot to keep up with. I all about cutting cost. I did love how long colour last on them though.
Brights or Darks - Brights are so fun. <3 pink nails.
Flower or No Flower - no flowers but maybe a nice pattern

Body wash or Soap - I love the squeeky clean feeling from Soap
LUSH or Other Bath Company - honestly I have not tried that many.

Stripes or Plaid - I don't even think I own anything in Plaid. Nothing against it. Maybe I should get something :)

Scarves or Hats - Love scarves in winter and hats give you hat hair.
Studs or Dangly Earrings - I rarely wear earrings
Necklaces or Bracelets - ahh I can't decide. I don't accessorise. I'll go necklaces.
Heels or Flats - I am such a baby when it comes to heels. I have a few that don't hurt but most of the time I go for comfort.
Cowboy Boots or Riding Boots - Riding boots like a little less western. I don't really go for the western look.
Jacket or Hoodie - Jackets are more comfortable for me
Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe - I've never shopped at either :(
Abercombie or Hollister - Same again. So deprived here in Australia
Saks 5th or Nordstrom - Why are you doing this to me haha
→ Hair
Curly or Straight - love both but I do straight hair more
Bun or Ponytail - who doesn't love a messy bun
Bobby pins or Butterfly clips - not as noticable
Hair spray or Gel - Gel gives that gross wet look
Long or Short - My hair is finally getting long. yay!!
Light or Dark - I have had both dark and light hair. Light hair is just more me.
Side sweep bangs or Full bangs - Easier to manage. Full bangs need to be cut every second week.
Up or Down - Love hair down but I mainly wear my hair up
→ Random
Rain or Shine - I love the sun. Rain rain go away!!
Summer or Winter - Pools, beach and dresses!!
Fall or Spring - getting closer to summer. Love all the flowers and its starts to warm up
Chocolate or Vanilla - I never used to be a chocolate person but I really like it now.
East coast or West coast - I think this is another american question. But I live on the East coast of Australia :)

Well that was fun :) These are really important questions you have to ask yourself haha but seriously it is cool to see all the different answer.

November BellaBox - READY. SET. GLOW!

Long time no see... This time of the year gets so busy! I love it but.

I got my BellaBox today and it is a summer based box. I really like what I've gotten this month. It so so worth the money.

1. Laqa and Co Cheeky Lip - Cray Cray Double-up with this handy little 2-in-1 crayon, which can be applied to both year cheeks and lips for a pop of colour! With an easy to use twist up stick, the creamy lightweight formula glides onto lips or cheeks and is easily blended. The bright, flirty hue has great colour pay-off and is perfect for the day and night! RRP $35.00 Available at bellabox.com.au
I love this product. It is a colour and has great payoff.

2. NYX Baked Eye Shadow Get creative with your makeup look with this bold, fun and highly pigmented eye shadow by NYX. The lightweight eye colour really packs in the pigments and the unique baked formula blends seamlessly for an incredible finish! RRP $9.99 Eye shadow exlusive to bellabox. Shop the NYX range at target.com.au
The packaging to this is so cute with the little bow on top. The colour look beautiful in the packaging, It has a very nice payoff. I did think it was going to be better but I think I really had my standard too high. NYX is a great brand and so cheap :)

3. Redwin Coconut Balm Nourish your lips naturally with this coconut balm enriched with papaya extract and jojoba oil deep hydration. It also protects and restores softness to your lips. This versatile balm can be used on cracked skin, cuts, burns and bites! 25g RRP $5.99 Available at redwin.com.au and Priceline.
This smells so good! The coconut is very strong and it's a nice thick moisturising. It is however a little sticky.

4. Ulta3 Nail Polish Expand your nail polish collection with the huge range of colours from ulta3. The salon quality enamel is long lasting, so you can take your professional manicure into your own home. RRP $2.30 (regular nail polish), RRP $5.00 (pro nails) Both available at ulta3.com.au
I got a really weird green colour. I'm also not a massive fan of this brand. You need a lot of coats to get good coverage and I don't have time for that. This is probably my least favourite item in this box.

5. Sebamed Liqid Face & Body Wash With moisturising vitamins and amino acids this face and body wash gently cleanses without drying the skin. It also helps maintain the skin moisture balance and protective barrier with the pH of 5.5 - the same oH of healthy skin! 300ml RRP $14.95 Available at sebamed.com.au and pharmacyonline.com.au
I have never heard of this brand before but I am really excited to try this. It smells so clean.

BONUS
Bic Soleil Glow Razor 3 pack RRP $7.50 Available at Coles, Kmart and IGA
This is a cool bonus. Razors get expensive.

BELLABOX TRIES
Carefree Ultra Thins Regular
10 pack RRP $4.29 Available at Chemist Warehouse, Priceline, Coles and Woolworths
This is also a very handy sample.

As I said before, I'm very happy with this box. I think Bellabox has new owners now and it seems like they are putting a lot more effort into the boxes now.

Mummy Tag

Busy Busy Busy. I have not posted in too long. Sorry I defiantly have to get back into it. Its been a busy month. Here is a little Tag to get me back into it. I found this tag on http://lindsandbaby.blogspot.com.au/

Tag Questions:

1. Are you a SAHM or working mom?
Working Mummy. I work four days a week. 7.30-5ish :) but Axl goes to an amazing home daycare and my husband is home with him one of the days too. Very lucky :)

2. Would you have it any other way?
Obviously I would love to stay home with my little man but being able to provide for him and not have him miss out on too much is important to me. 3 days would be better but this is what we need to do.

3. Do you co-sleep? No. He is a very independent sleeper. Since about 6 months old he will only fall asleep in his bed by myself. He great but I do miss the snuggles sometimes.

4. One must have gear for baby?  I would have to say the one thing that I would recommend to everyone is a baby wrap or just any type of baby wearing. It was so helpful and so nice and comforting. I used a moby wrap and loved it.

5. How many kids do you plan on having? 2

6. Date night? How many nights (or day) per month?
hmmm my husband and I don't go on date nights. We do have nights out but that is with friends about once a month. We really do enjoy going on dates with our little man. How lucky for me.. I have to men taken me out. Just means no movies dates. I do miss those. Maybe one day soon.

7. Your child's favourite show? Easy... minions!!!

8. Name 1 thing you brought before you had your baby and you never ended up using? Nothing really. I don't think we over purchased. If anything I would say we probably still haven't used all the blankets. You get a lot of blankets.

9. Your child's favourite food? Boobie??? He gets so excited for milk. But food would be chocolate. Unhealthy and he doesn't get it that often but that's defiantly his favourite.

10. How many cars does your family have?  2 cars

11. Weight gain before pregnancy, during and after, and now? I gained 16kgs I think. I lost most of it and have been +2 to 3kgs on my prepregancy weight since giving birth.

12. Dream vacation with your kiddos? Disney!

13. Dream vacation without the kiddos? Back to Thailand. We went there on our honeymoon.

14. How has your life changed since your baby has been born? The biggest thing that has changed is I talk about him all the time. I feel sorry for my friends without children haha I never have a day without him (apart from work). Life is busy and fun!! No more boring days.

15. Finish the sentence: "It makes my heart melt to see......" axl learning something new.
It's so amazing watching them learn. It's unreal how smart they are!

16. Where do you shop for your kids? Big W and Target $5 racks since he is a boy and everything is stained!!

17. Favourite make-up and skin care products? I buy alot of MAC!

18. Huggies or pampers ? Huggies but I buy the Aldi brand nappies. Huggies always from newborns though.

19. Have you always wanted kids?
Yes.

20. Best part about being a mom?
The love. It is such a different type of love and its unreal.

Please let me know if you have done this tag. I would love to read them.

Beauty Tag - Would you rather

Tags are fun! So I went searching for some more. This is the Would you rather beauty tag and I found it on www.themakeuphoneyblog.com

1. Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice makeup or nice hair and no makeup?
Messy hair and nice makeup. Messy hair doesn't always look that bad. No makeup is not the nicest sometimes.

2. Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?
Shave my eyebrows. I don't know why but having my eyelashes fall out make me very anxious haha

3. Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?
I've never been to Sephora before. One has finally opened in Australia but is about 5 hours away from me. So I guess I'll pick MAC.

4. Would you rather wear lipgloss/lipliner look or 80’s perm?
Are you aloud to blend? haha I'm guessing not. I think I'm still going to go with lipgloss/lipliner look.

6. Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?
MC Hammer pants. Less is not always more.

7. Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can’t be covered?
Weird Tan lines. I'm not a very tanned person so an orange spray tan will look bad on me.

8. Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair colour?
A bad hair colour. You don't have to grow that out of cut it shorter.

9. Would you rather have youtube or instagram taken away forever?
Instagram. Silly question. Who would want youtube taken away??

10. Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?
Never use mascara. Makeup brushes make makeup look good. Without them you are better off not wearing makeup haha bit extreme but you get the picture.

12. Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Oh that a tough one. I'm going to say Summer clothes in winter. It does Snow or anything here. But summer gets very hot!!!!

13. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
hmmm One eyeshadow colour. I wear lipstick way more than eyeshadow.

14. Would you rather chop all of your hair off or never be able to cut it again?
I'm growning my hair so never ever cut it and be rapunzel

I am so glad I don't have to choose between these in real life. Oh the stress!!

Please comment below what you would pick.

I tag EVERYONE!!

Whats in my toddlers daycare bag??

My son goes to daycare three days a week and sometimes backing his bag is an effort trying to think of lunch ideas etc. So here is 1 idea for you....

Today for morning tea he has some watermelon which he is obsessed with at the moment and mango.
Lunch is some egg, ham and tomato. Some on the egg and tomato came home with him. He must not have felt like that today but all the ham was gone.
Afternoon tea was some popcorn - sweet and salty flavoured. Popcorn is a healthier alternitive to potato chips that I like to give him and he loves it!

He has spare warm clothes and spar summer clothes.

I pack about 6 nappies and some wipes.

And of cause his drink bottle. He loves daycare and we have never had an issues with him not eating any of his food.

If you have any easy ideas for lunches let me know in the comments. I would love some more ideas.

Bella Box - September Beauty Reboot

The September edition of the Bellabox is the Beauty Reboot. So its all about pampering yourself. I must admit I'm a little disappointed because there is nothing too exciting like lipstick or mascara. But it is still very worth the money and I don't think any of it will go to waste.

1. JURLIQUE PURELY AGE-DEFYING FIRMING TREATMENT MASK - we like to think of anti-aging products more like age-prevention products! it's important to care for your skin, no matter what your age and this treatment mask is perfect to do just that! Packed with natural botanical, it targets and helps reduce the 7 signs of aging. Covering the face and neck area, you can give yourself a mini facial in the comfort of your own home in just 10 minutes! 5 masks RRP $69.00 Available at jurlique.com.au
I'm normally not a fan of these types of mask because I find the wetness really gross but lately I haven't been liking my skin so I think I'll give it ago. And did you see how expensive they are haha they must be fancy :)

2. ALLURING MINERALS MINERAL ILLUMINISER - Delivering a beautiful, dewy glow to the skin, this illuminiser will highlight and brighten your complexion instantly! Visit alluringminerals.com.au to explore the product range, and redeem a special offer of a pack containing samples of 2 foundations shades, a primer and a blush for $10 (inc postage)! or get $10 off your first order on all full size products using the code bellagirl. 4g RRP $30.00 Available at alluringminerals.com.au
Excuse me a minute while I go order that special.....

.....few minutes later.....
hmm so I'm having trouble getting it to work. Let me know if you work it out. I'll have another go later. Back to the sample product though. I really like it. I'm probably most excited about this product. Loose powder is annoying to use but its very nice. I think I'll use it a lot.

3. AUSTRALIAN PURE FACE SCRUB - Enriched with native Australian Lilli Pilli and Wattleseed Extracts, this face scrub will gently cleanse deep into pores removing dirt and dull skin to leave skin feeling smooth and invigorated. 150ml RRP $5.99 Available at woolworths
This looks like it will good face scrub. The natural seeds feels really nice to rub into the skin and my skin was very soft after (I tested it on my hand). Not much of a smell to it. I received a full size which is great. I tend to use the full size items more because the sample sizes just sit in a draw.

4. PILATEN COLLAGEN LIP - We are so excited to bring you the latest beauty trend, straight out of Asia, the collagen lip mask! A favourite among celebrities including Jessica Alba and Lady Gaga these mask are designed to restore moisture for softer, plumper lips! Simply Apply to your lips for 20-30 minutes. RRP $4.95 each or 3 for $10.00 Available at bellabox.com.au
Last month I was so sad that I didn't get one of these. Everyone seemed to get them last month. I felt left out haha I didn't know what they were for but they looked cool and everyone was posting them. I'm excited to give it a go. Find 20-30 minutes to do it will be hard though.

5. CHAPSTICK NIGHT REPAIR - An enriching overnight lip treatment that works while you sleep, during the skins natural renewal process. Apply just before bed for soft, supple lips in the morning! RRP $6.99 (for both Day & Night) Available at Priceline
Everyone loves and needs more chapstick. I've never used the night repair that that awesome :)

BONUS - PALMER'S COCOA BUTTER FORMULA WITH VITAMIN E
They put this in almost every box. I have so many samples of it. But it is a good product.

Overall it was a nice box. I am excited to give a few of the products a go.

Never say Never

I just read WIFE MOMMY ME post about Never Say Never:
http://www.wifemommyme.com/2015/09/parenting-101-never-say-never.html

It is so true and I think all new mums and even second time, third mums should remember this. Every child is so different and even if it worked with your first child and you say you'll never do it with your second, it may not turn out that way.

My little man never wanted a dummy. I tell myself now that I don't want my next baby to use one. I'm not game to say never because I don't want to jinx myself.

Pregnancy and children never goes to plan. Here are somethings that I should have never said never with:

  • I comfort fed and fed to sleep almost every time until 6 months old.
  • I held him while he slept for the first 6 months too.
  • I sometimes give him chocolate before dinner so I can cook in peace.
I wouldn't change any of these. I loved have all those cuddle while I was still on maternity leave. I would sit of the lounge for hours watching him sleep. He didn't cry much because I comfort fed and it was so nice to know that I could fix anything with abit of milk.

The snacks before dinner is probably bad but he still eats his dinner most of the time :)

Comment and let me know your Never say Never!

Hydrafacial TM

I work at a dentist and we have recently brought in a new treatment. We are introducing more cosmetic treatments as Dental Spas is really starting to take off.

The one that I have been trained to provide is HydraFacialTM. It is amazing. I received a HydraFacialTM on the training day and I couldn't stop touching my face after. It was so soft and glowing. I was almost tempted to come to work without makeup the next day. Almost. I couldn't quiet do it haha.

It's not your traditional facial. It's not as relaxing. The wand that is used to place the production on your face has a suction with it. It doesn't hurt at all but you wouldn't fall asleep.

It main purpose is to improve overall skin health, but it can help with:

  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles
  • Elasticity and Firmness
  • Skin Tone Evenness and Vibrancy
  • Skin Texture
  • Hyperpigmentation/photo Damage
  • Oily/Congested Skin
  • Enlarged Pores
  • Advanced Signs of Aging
There is 4 steps to the Facial which in total takes about 25-30 minutes.

Step 1. is the Vortex-exfolationTM. Using an Activ-aTM serum removes dead skin cells to uncover healthy skin.

Step 2. Vortex-PeelTM. GlusalTM serum, a mixture of Glycolic and Salicylic Acids deliver the benefits of a peel without post-peel scaling.

Step 3. Vortex-ExtractionTM. Patented, painless vortex-suction cleans out pores with the help of Beta-HDTM Serum.

Step 4. Vortex-Fusion TM. Antiox+TM serum is delivered to nourish and portect skin with Antioxidants, Peptides and Hyaluronic Acid.

One of the cool things, is after the treatment there is the excess solution in a container which also has all the dead skin and stuff that came out of your pores in it. Its cool to see what came out and how good of a job it done. I'm defiantly going to continue getting this treatment.

Toddler bed - 17 months old

I decided on Friday that I would start teaching my little boy to sleep in a big boy bed. Today is Monday and it's going great. He is 17 months old and has always been a great sleeper. He self settles but I did think this was going to be hard. He will never fall asleep anywhere but a cot and a car seat. He wont fall asleep in our bed or in our arms. He has to be in a cot to self settle.

Day 1: He has one sleep a day which is around lunch time. He helped me change his cot into a toddler bed. He didn't understand what he was doing, he just like playing with screw drivers. It took about 40 minutes to get him to sleep. There was laughter and there was tears. He thought it was very funny and wouldn't leave his room, he just kept getting up and standing at the door. I would tell him to lay back down and he would. I started to get very stern with him and he got upset. I stuck it out and next thing I knew he was asleep.
That night we didn't stay at home so we ended up sleeping in a cot just because it was easier.

Day 2: His daytime sleep was also not at home so that was in a cot as well. But night time was great. It took about 20 minutes and he went straight to sleep.

Day 3: This day time sleep was the hardest. He never left his room and was so quiet and I would go check on him and he was just playing with his toys. So that's where I went wrong. I was walking away. What I ended up doing was sitting at his door where he couldn't see me and every time he got up i would tell him to lay back down. This took an hour and a half. Very annoying.
His night time sleep was amazing. I put him to bed. He came out once. I took him back and he laid down. Talked to himself for awhile, then went to sleep.

Day 4: He is at daycare at the moment but I go an update from his daycarer and it only took her 10 minutes and he went to sleep.

Hopefully tonight is another great night. I'm a very proud mum. He sleeps though so he hasn't gotten out of the bed during the night and he wakes up around 7.30-8ish and wonders into my room.

There is a bar that goes across so he doesn't roll out but the screws it came with didn't fit so my husband will have to fix it but so far he hasn't rolled out haha.

Also there was so many socks behind his bed when I pulled it out to change it. I wondered where they all went haha.

Beauty Blogger Tag

Morning :)
I just stumbled upon this Beauty Blogger Tag which was created by The Beau Bow and I haven't posted a beauty related posted in a bit so this is a good start. I wasn't tagged by anyone but I'm sure that doesn't matter.
Let do this:
Rules:
State that the tag was created by The Beau Bow
Tag as many beauty bloggers as you would like
Title this post the ‘Beauty Blogger Tag’
Questions & Answers:
1. Name a beauty routine you barely do.
Concealer - I think maybe because I only really have 1 concealer and its not really a great under eye concealer  and I don't get many breakouts.
2. Is washing your brushes something that you regularly do?
Oh I'm the worse at this. I'm too embarrassed to even say how often I wash them ;)
3. How long do you last with chipped nail varnish?
I try not to last any longer the 3 or so days when they start to get really bad, but that's not to say I haven't last longer haha
4. How often do you put off buying/replacing a beauty item or nail polish, even if you need it?
Most of the time I buy before I run out.
5. What is your worst beauty habit?
Washing my face before bed. I go through a lot of makeup remover wipes!
6. Name something non-beauty related that you tend to put off all the time.
Mopping. I think this is my most hated chore.
7. When going out somewhere do you leave getting ready until the last-minute or not?
Nope. I'm always ready too early. I get excited and eager.
8. Can you commit to spending bans?
I'm on a lipstick ban at the moment. It's kicking me since the latest mac collection came up but I know its for the best haha I'm pretty good at it because I don't really have the spare money do buy them haha
9. How organised is your make up and nail polish collection?
Mine is an organised mess. It's all in the correct area but makeup packaging gets so messy. But I'm very picky if this get put in the wrong draw or holder.
10. What is the longest time you have gone without writing a blog post?
Too long. Mainly when I first started, but i'm getting better.
Well that was fun. I'll defiantly be keeping my eye out for more. I tag everyone but more specifically +Marlene Botelho  I came across her blog this morning and through she might like it.
