My "Finding Out" Story

My "Finding Out" Story

As I have mentioned before, Paul and I started trying to fall pregnant when we got engaged. It took us over two years to finally fall pregnant. It was a very stressful time. We were seeing our family doctor trying to work out what was going on. We were about to start seeing a specialist as well. Although in a way, I am grateful it happened when it did. We got married, went overseas for our honeymoon and just a lot of things that we wouldn't have been able to do. Although at the time there was a lot of stress and tears.

We were starting to get fed up with it all and decided to plan another holiday oversea. We were going to go to America in 2014 and I had also planned to start a big tattoo. Only a few weeks after all this started to get planned we found out the amazing news and obviously had to cancel our plans, which we were more than happy to do.

We went away for the weekend to visit some of Paul's family. Had a lot of fun and maybe a few too many drink since we had no idea I was pregnant. The few days away my breast where just unbelievable sore. I couldn't even go over a bump in the car without them hurting. We returned home on the Saturday night and on the Sunday I decided to test. I had one spare test laying around, as I think I was testing almost every month (cost way too much money). My periods were late as always. At this stage I was only getting my periods every 3 months or so.

I was taking the test and as always really wasn't expecting a positive, but straight away those two magical lines appeared. I was in shock. My very first words "get out!?" I had always role played in my head how I would tell Paul. But without even thinking I was on my phone taking a picture and sending it too him, as he was at work. I couldn't stop smiling and staring at it and my phone waiting for Paul to write back. Luckily he wrote back straight away. "Yay. Did you try again?" was his reply. I had to go down the street to get some more test. I had to do another test. I got the digital test that also tells you how many weeks along you are. Paul said I had to wait until he got home because he wanted to be there when I took them. He got an early lunch time and came home. I took one test and it was positive also :)

Words can't describe how happy we were. I wanted to tell so many people straight away. Paul thought we should wait for blood work to be done but then he could wait either. We said we would just tell our parents. And they were over the moon. They knew how badly we wanted this. We also told a few of our very close friends. It was so nice to have their support and love.

I had already told a few girls at work by the time I told everyone else. It was so hard to not say anything to the people you see every day. I officially told everyone at work when I was about 8 weeks. I thought I was joking for a second but everyone was very excited. We are like a little family here.

When I was about 10 weeks we couldn't wait much longer to announce it to the world. The way we saw it was that this is our child no matter what happens and everyone should know how much we love him. So we uploaded this photo to Facebook, with the caption "guess whos having a baby?"
It was amazing seeing the support from everyone. We somehow managed to receive 212 likes and 71 comments on the image. That defiantly was a record for us.

It really was one of the most exciting times of our lives and still is. :)
