28 Weeks Pregnant

28 Weeks Pregnant

Not the most flattering photo. But this this the bump at 28 week.
<3 third trimester yay!!
I have been awfully uncomfortable this week. I am thinking this is mainly because we have been busy with some late nights. One of those nights being a concert that we went to. We save two bands, Karnivool and Dead Letter Circus. This was lots of fun. But it was a big night on my feet and my belly was extremely sore the next few days :( Thinking I may need to slow down soon.

Total weight gain: 12 kgs

Maternity clothes: Still needing some new clothes but I'm making do with the ones I have at the moment..

Stretch marks? Not yet :)

Sleep: Need more of it and its very uncomfortable. Although one night I got 13hours of sleep. That was amazing :) I must have needed.

Best moments this week: It was great to get out and see a band.

Movements: All day and night long.

Food cravings: Nothing special this week.

Anything making you queasy or sick? No.

Gender: Baby boy.

Labour signs: Cramping/Braxton hicks. Normal I'm thinking.

Symptoms: Braxton hicks. Leg restlessness.

Belly button in or out: It's disappearing lol

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or moody mosts of the time? Happy but exhausted.

Looking forward to: Clinic Appointment tomorrow.

27 weeks pregnant

27 Weeks Pregnant

17 weeks vs 27 weeks.

This week has been great. We purchased the babies dresser which doubles as a changing table. So that crosses two big items of the list. It was so much fun putting all the clothes away. We also got a few more clothes and bits and pieces.

Total weight gain: 11kgs

Maternity clothes: I purchased my first maternity bra. I have been putting it off because they don't seem very flattering and my boobs just seem to keep growing. But I caved and brought one. I love it. Very comfy. Has an underwire so very supportive too :) I got it from bras n things.

Stretch marks? Nope

Sleep: A bit better then last week. But lots of silly dreams.

Best moments this week: Putting bubs clothes away in the dresser. :)

Movements: Starting to feel even just the squirming movements. Feels so weird but I love it. He wasa little  quiet today which made me think but he was still moving so I'm sure that's normal.

Food cravings: No cravings this week.

Anything making you queasy or sick? No.

Gender: Baby boy.

Labour signs: I have been cramping up but It's not labour signs (I don't think lol)

Symptoms: Leg cramps, cramps and just feeling a bit down.

Belly button in or out: half and half, but it's getting there.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or moody mosts of the time? Happy, but a little down at times.

Looking forward to: Entering the 3rd and final trimester :)

Babies New Dresser

Babies New Dressers!

Tomorrow Paul and I are attending his cousins wedding and we were planning to go look at dressers for the babies room since we were going to be in a different town with more furniture shops. But today we decided to go checkout this op shop that is in town that has all factor second furniture and found a really nice dresser with only a few marks on it for $300. :) Got to love a bargain.

I had a little too much fun putting all the clothes away. I was really good to be able to organise them. It was hard to see what we still needed when it was all just piled up in the bassinet. We are going to get a changing pad to put on the end of the table. We are also going to make one or to of the bottom cabinets hanging space and there is shelves in the others.

My "Finding Out" Story

My "Finding Out" Story

As I have mentioned before, Paul and I started trying to fall pregnant when we got engaged. It took us over two years to finally fall pregnant. It was a very stressful time. We were seeing our family doctor trying to work out what was going on. We were about to start seeing a specialist as well. Although in a way, I am grateful it happened when it did. We got married, went overseas for our honeymoon and just a lot of things that we wouldn't have been able to do. Although at the time there was a lot of stress and tears.

We were starting to get fed up with it all and decided to plan another holiday oversea. We were going to go to America in 2014 and I had also planned to start a big tattoo. Only a few weeks after all this started to get planned we found out the amazing news and obviously had to cancel our plans, which we were more than happy to do.

We went away for the weekend to visit some of Paul's family. Had a lot of fun and maybe a few too many drink since we had no idea I was pregnant. The few days away my breast where just unbelievable sore. I couldn't even go over a bump in the car without them hurting. We returned home on the Saturday night and on the Sunday I decided to test. I had one spare test laying around, as I think I was testing almost every month (cost way too much money). My periods were late as always. At this stage I was only getting my periods every 3 months or so.

I was taking the test and as always really wasn't expecting a positive, but straight away those two magical lines appeared. I was in shock. My very first words "get out!?" I had always role played in my head how I would tell Paul. But without even thinking I was on my phone taking a picture and sending it too him, as he was at work. I couldn't stop smiling and staring at it and my phone waiting for Paul to write back. Luckily he wrote back straight away. "Yay. Did you try again?" was his reply. I had to go down the street to get some more test. I had to do another test. I got the digital test that also tells you how many weeks along you are. Paul said I had to wait until he got home because he wanted to be there when I took them. He got an early lunch time and came home. I took one test and it was positive also :)

Words can't describe how happy we were. I wanted to tell so many people straight away. Paul thought we should wait for blood work to be done but then he could wait either. We said we would just tell our parents. And they were over the moon. They knew how badly we wanted this. We also told a few of our very close friends. It was so nice to have their support and love.

I had already told a few girls at work by the time I told everyone else. It was so hard to not say anything to the people you see every day. I officially told everyone at work when I was about 8 weeks. I thought I was joking for a second but everyone was very excited. We are like a little family here.

When I was about 10 weeks we couldn't wait much longer to announce it to the world. The way we saw it was that this is our child no matter what happens and everyone should know how much we love him. So we uploaded this photo to Facebook, with the caption "guess whos having a baby?"
It was amazing seeing the support from everyone. We somehow managed to receive 212 likes and 71 comments on the image. That defiantly was a record for us.

It really was one of the most exciting times of our lives and still is. :)

Pregnancy apps

There are a lot of pregnancy app for iPhones out there and I love them. They are great because daily they have useful tips and information. These are the ones that I like. In order of favourites.

1. Pregnancy +

This is my favourite app.  I did pay $2 something for the full app (the rest are free). It has awesome information.
  • It has a weekly update, telling you what development the baby is going through each week and also what your body is going through.
  • There is also daily information for each day of the entire pregnancy. These range from things you should start doing, thing your body is doing and this hubby should be doing (clean ;)).
  • The app tells you what star sign your baby will be and all the characteristics that come with this.
  • The is a fruit size guide if what size you baby should be each week, although there is another app I prefer for this.
  • A timeline of the pregnancy, which tells you what week things happen, eg. conception, heartbeat starts, dating scan, gender scan, first kicks, hospital bag and lots more.
  • Food and weigh information
  • Labour information
  • Exercise information
  • Birth plan
  • Medical Information
  • You can organise you doctor visits
  • There is a shopping checklist
  • Hospital bag checklist
  • To do list
  • Name search
  • Important checklist
  • Kick counter
  • Contraction counter

2. BabyBump

This app also has the daily and weekly information which is great. But the main reason I love this app is because you can upload weekly pictures of yourself and I love to look back over them and see how my belly has grown.

3. Baby centre

Baby center has a great set up with there daily and weekly information. It also has checklist of things you should be doing. The main reason I like this app is because I go on the website almost every day and all the information is Australia information with Australian forums.

4. The Bump

The only reason I use this app is for the fruit and veg size comparison. For me it has been the cutest :)

26 weeks pregnant

Wow! 26 weeks. Time has flown. I have thought about doing this ever since my first week but I just haven't had the courage I guess to do it. But better never late then never I guess.

Today I read an amazing post mainly about body image after pregnancy and I was so useful for me. Before I fell pregnant I lost 15kgs and felt amazing, so I have not felt very good about the extra weight and body change. Please check out this blog and post. It has inspired me to post today.

So the story of my pregnancy.... My husband and I have been together since we were young. July this year it has been 8 years. We got married in April 2013 and feel pregnant in July 2013. We started trying to fall pregnant when we got engaged. So it was a long 2 years. We never thought it was going to happen. Although we wanted to fall pregnant earlier, I feel like it was perfect timing.

Now I would only get my periods every 4-7 months so I don't know when I ovulated. But from my ultrasound my due date is the 14/04/14. However my uterus is three week ahead of the ultrasound (this would make the same due date as my blood work and period date, but the doctor said to go off the ultrasound so that's what we will do).

Total weight gain: 10kgs

Maternity clothes: I defaintly need some new maternity clothes. So many of my clothes done fit and skirts and dresses just keep getting shorter and shorter.

Stretch marks? None yet. Yay. Although I have various vanishes which aren't nice.

Sleep: I don't think I have sleep a whole night since I feel pregnant. This last week or two though has been bad. Bub loves sticking his feet in my ribs. It hurts :(

Best moments this week: It has been amazing to see how excited and involved my husband is. This week he was smiling and looking at me and I thought he must have been up to something, so I asked that he was locking at. His response: "I'm just looking at my boy." So sweet!

Movements: Does he not sleep? Wow, he just kicks and punches all day and night long. It's amazing watching and feeling him move, but it can get annoying because it really feels like he doesn't stop.

Food cravings: Most of my pregnancy I have craved fresh white bread sandwhiches. Mainly ham, cheese and tomato on whitee bread to be exact haha, but lately I haven't really been craving anything. Although I really have to stop being  weak and start eating healthier.

Anything making you queasy or sick? No, not really. I do think that morning (all day) sickness is starting to come back though. The only think that makes me feel better is to snack when I'm hungry.

Gender: Baby boy.

Labour signs: Nope.

Symptoms: Leg cramps started this week. Abdomen cramps. Tailbone pain :(

Belly button in or out: half and half,  it's so weird

Wedding rings on or off? On. But on some of these hot days we haave been having my fingers have swelled alittle and it was a little harder to take off but not too bad.

Happy or moody mosts of the time? Happy at the moment. Thank god. Altough it wouldnt suprise me if any day I start wantiinig to cry all the time again lol.

Looking forward to: Applying for maternity leave tomorrow :)

Looking forward to posting more :)

Thanks
